Why Terminator 6 News is Awesome!

What’s New in Terminator 6 News?

Terminator 6 has gotten the green light to start production!

I know many of you (like myself) are skeptical about the news. We’ve all been disappointing by unfulfilling sequels or cheap remakes.

This is true — especially when you consider T3, Salvation, or Genysis. While not terrible, they are usually perceived with varying degrees of meh. If this is not the case for yourself, let me know why they’re great or underrated in the comments below.

But here’s why I’m confident about the Terminator 6 news.

You’ve undoubtedly seen this guy before — Mr. James Cameron

James Cameron returns to the Director’s Producer’s Chair

We haven’t seen James Cameron since he released Avatar in 2009. Since then, he’s been working on the Avatar trilogy or quadriology. That’s what I keep hearing anyway. But he’s agreed to take a quick break from Avatar to direct produce Terminator 6.

In an article from MovieWeb, Cameron states that he wants to…

have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters, but we’ll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it.

This brings me to my next point, Linda Hamilton

The biggest Terminator 6 news is the fact that Linda Hamilton will reprise her role as Sarah Connor. I miss the days of iconic female characters like Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley. They were bold, unrelenting and determined.

Don’t get me wrong, Gal Gadot gives a great performance as Wonder Woman. It might just be me but I feel like the emotional stakes involving Sarah Connor (with Judgement Day) and Ellen Ripley were higher.

Then we get to Tim Miller

Who is that? Tim Miller gave his directorial debut with the smash hit Deadpool in 2016.  There are rumors that he’ll helm the director’s chair for the upcoming Neuromancer film and with the support of Cameron, he’ll direct Terminator 6.

This sounds like great news, considering that Miller has proven himself to be a bankable director.

Anyway, I’m excited and the film will mostly likely start shooting in 2018 or 2019 – fingers crossed.
